Great
Teacher Onizuka volume 9
Lesson #74 - Kujira may be tall, but she has a soft heart...
(Fuyumi) Kujirakawa is with her friends in the manga-otaku
club activities. Meanwhile, a student, asked about her by
(Kunio) Murai - probably - replied that she is surely a tall
student with her height at 181 cm. The student wondered why
even that she is obviously talented in sports, she instead
applied to enter the manga-otaku club, adding that Kujirakawa
is weird sometimes. The students then explained a rumor that
Kujirakawa was once a member of the gymnastic club, but maybe
her body is too tall and she can't use the gymnastic apparatus,
and the student laughed. Then the student commented that she
have another weird hobby, that's it, watching anime.
There are many prestigious sport schools offered her scholarship
too, but she rejected them all, and she ended up drawing manga
girls with large eyes. The student thinks that Kujirakawa's
absence is a loss for Japan sports. The student then being
asked about her possible love interest, and the student replied
that she possibly have none. She is so popular among the female
students, but her popularity among the male students is probably
nil. The student asked whoever interviewed him/her (webmaster
note: I think it's Murai who are asking) to see that she is
very tall, and that her height when she was in Standard 6
in primary school is 170cm.
Murai is standing outside the manga-otaku clubroom, standing
silently when he eavesdrops the conversation between Kujirakawa
and her manga-otaku friends. Suddenly, someone touched his
shoulder from behind and he turned to see (Aoi) Fukada smiling
at him. He started to blush, but Fukada removed her mask to
reveal that she is actually (Eikichi) Onizuka wearing Fukada's
mask. The sneering Onizuka exclaimed that he have heard the
news that Fukada had written a love letter to him. Murai is
shocked that Onizuka managed to get wind of the news, and
started to become angry with (Kouji) Fujiyoushi who must have
told Onizuka about the letter. Onizuka replied that he have
a devil's ear, so he will know every single incident that
happened in the school.
Murai denies that Fukada is the writer of the letter, adding
that it's not certain yet that it is she who wrote the letter.
Onizuka asked him not to deny it, and he added that he had
prepared a gift for Murai, specially made for him. He asked
Murai to come and see it himself. In the next scene, a sexy
image of Fukada image is being displayed on Adobe Photoshop
image software. Murai asked on Onizuka's intention, and Onizuka
asked Murai to move the cursor to her mouth and click on it.
Murai followed Onizuka's instructions and the Fukada's image
started to talk, saying the sentence 'Murai, I love you' repeatedly.
Onizuka asked Murai about his opinions, saying that the voice
is really Fukada's and that he spends a lot of time editing
the voice to say the sentence with (Yoshito) Kikuchi's help.
Onizuka proceeded to explain the next feature of his 'gift'.
He asked Murai to click on Fukada's hand, so that all her
clothes will disappear. Seeing that Murai doesn't want to
do it, Onizuka started to do it himself, and bragging about
his new-learned ability to superimpose images. He then declared
that the talking nude Fukada's picture is the gift he prepared
for Murai, and tells Murai to use the 'gift' for his training
before he sleeps with her. Onizuka noticed that Murai is angry,
and asked him to calm down. He continues, saying that his
next project is to make an animated Fukada and he started
to laugh. He then turned to Murai to ask him to enjoy the
'gift' but instead Murai started to beat him with a chair,
as he cursed Onizuka for thinking dirty about Fukada. He proceeded
to destroy the ‘gift’, much Onizuka's dismay,
and he stormed out from the room. As he walked away, an angry
Onizuka yelled at him that he will never make an animated
Fukada for him, even if Murai is begging him.
Murai arrived to his locker, just to see another letter inside,
the 3rd one. He opened it, and the writer still signed herself
with the letter 'F'. In the next scene, back at the stairs,
Kujirakawa is asking Murai about his decision. She frowned
to learn that Murai doesn't read the 3rd letter yet. She accused
him of being a coward. Suddenly Murai shot back, asking why
she doesn't want to tell him about the real identity of the
writer. He started to descend the stairs again, and as usual,
Kujirakawa is descending the stairs too, following his rhythm.
He tells her, that without knowing her name, he can't make
a decision. Kujirakawa replies that the writer will look pathetic
if he rejected the writer after she tells him about the writer
identity.
Murai tried to protest, but Kujirakawa interjected, saying
that the writer is a girl who doesn’t have self-confidence.
That's why the writer wants to know his decision first before
telling her identity. Kujirakawa added that the writer is
like that, who have little self-confidence. She continues,
saying that everyone will at least have a bit of that self-confidence
loss in his or her heart, but maybe Murai never experience
it. Murai is silent as she summed that she will not give the
real identity without a decision from him. The writer will
wrote more letter and she, Kujirakawa the messenger, will
help deliver the letters until Murai can come with a decision.
Murai is stunned, as Kujirakawa tells him not to ask for
her identity, and that maybe she will tell him by herself
later in the letters (webmaster note: This sentence is VERY
IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND). Suddenly, Murai asked her
to stop, saying that he has it enough already. He then called
Kujirakawa by her full name, shocking her. He added that he
is quite glad that the 'F' person takes a liking of him, but
he has actually fallen for somebody else. He then tells her
that he loved 'Fukada' (webmaster note: He only says the word
'Fukada'.). Hearing that, Kujirakawa smiles faintly, but the
traces of disappointment and defeat shows in her face.
Suddenly she started to laugh, saying that she never expect
that things will turn out that way. Murai is shocked as she
added that Murai should have told her earlier. She exclaimed
that everything is falling into place as Murai is puzzled.
She then asked Murai for a pencil, and he gives one to her.
Kujirakawa then write something on the 1st letter, and asked
Murai to read it. Murai is stunned when he see the word 'Fukada'
at the end of the letter. She started to apologize, explaining
that the writer has actually write her name in the letters
in the first place, but Kujirakawa erases them to see how
Murai reacts. Murai is shocked that Kujirakawa had said that,
because that statement obviously proved that her explanations
on why she doesn't want to tell him the writer's real identity
earlier is just a lie, and that also proved that Kujirakawa
have some other motives. Kujirakawa added that she feels some
pity for Fukada if it turns out that Murai has already have
a girlfriend, because Fukada had been admiring her from Year
1. She apologized again, saying that she never has any ill
intentions for doing that, and her anxieties are just baseless.
She gives Murai 2 movie tickets for the Hollywood film 'Jaws'
and explained that Fukada is waiting for him at the cinema
at 5 pm. She added that he should go and meets her. She started
to force a smile, saying that she is doing too much for something
that she should not worry. She blamed herself for being stupid,
and that she is only a tall girl who rarely talked to the
boys. Murai is silent, possibly thinking on what Kujirakawa's
feelings really are. Suddenly, the party gatecrasher called
Onizuka emerges from up the stairs and he is stunned to see
Kujirakawa and Murai talking with each other at a secluded
place. He asked on what are they doing, and starting to make
wild speculation that they are dating. Murai tried to deny
him, but Onizuka countered that if his speculation is wrong,
why should both of them blush. Kujirakawa started to run,
as Onizuka yelled in vain to ask her to stop. He screams that
he is only joking. Seeing that Kujirakawa is missing, he asked
Murai whether he wanted to chase her or not, but Murai ignored
him as he is thinking about something....
Walking to the cinema, Murai silently thinks that Kujirakawa
is kind of cute. Even that she is tall, she still acts like
a normal girl. He remembers the time he asked her on why she
is keeping her distance at the stairs, and her words earlier
that day. Murai then realized the true purpose why Kujirakawa
is keeping her distance from her, and also why she is lying
to him, and the revelations make him blush. He then shakes
his head as to throw the thought away. He blamed himself for
thinking like that, just after he knows that Fukada really
likes him after all. Then he entered the cinema, while thinking
about Fukada, calming himself that after liking her for so
long, he should be happy instead when Fukada shows a favorable
response to him.
The 'Jaws' has already started, and the blushing Murai is
taking his seat. The girl beside him started to stammer, saying
that Murai has really come. She added that Kujirakawa had
told her about his revelation earlier and she feels so happy.
Murai is controlling himself, but the sign of tension really
shows. The girl (now shown with double-ponytails) exclaimed
that it's the first time they meet, and introduced herself
as Fukada. Murai is shocked when he hears that they are meeting
for the first time, and turned his had towards her to see
a completely different Fukada from what he has imagined.
Murai mouth is wide open from shock, and both of them locked
eyes, unable to do anything. Meanwhile at the silver screen,
a female cast is swimming with a great white shark closing
behind her. Murai started to sweat as he stared to his nightmare!!!
Fukada started to smile, as the white shark started open its
jaws to devour the screaming female cast. (Webmaster note:
This scene can't be easily described with words, so click
here to see
the manga scan!!!).
Outside the cinema, the beautiful (Aoi) Fukada asked Kujirakawa
whether setting up Murai and Fukada will serve everyone interests.
Kujirakawa asked her on the reason she asked the question.
Fukada tells Kujirakawa not to pretend anymore, as she knows
that Kujirakawa herself loved Murai for a very long time.
Kujirakawa is silent, but she replied that she couldn’t
do anything about that either, because Murai loved Fukada,
and Fukada loved him (big misunderstanding by Kujirakawa here).
Hearing that, Fukada commented that they should not do anything
then, and Kujirakawa agreed with her. They walked away to
the sound of the shark victim devoured by the predator...
