Lesson
#200 – Forever – featuring the BW cover of volume
24.
Narration: What have happened in the past half-a-year is
truly mind-boggling. All of us will become adults some day.
At that time, how we will view the events of what have happened
back then?
One month after the fire incident, the reconstruction of
the burnt building is well underway. Meanwhile, the old headmaster
that was replaced by (Misuzu) Daimon is back, and he greets
the new trainee teachers in the teachers’ room by introducing
his name (at last we know what his name is, it’s long
overdue), while the 3 principals are clearly disturbed with
his return from Hokkaido. As the headmaster lectures the new
trainees about how to improvise even that a building is in
the process of rebuilding, the principals angrily discussed
about why the bald headmaster returns back to the school after
being transferred to a rural school in Hokkaido, thus undercutting
their chances of becoming a headmaster themselves.
The headmaster then tells the trainees to do their job according
to the timetables, and one of them approached (Azusa) Fuyutsuki.
She introduced herself as Minami Kikuwa, and that she is assigned
to teach in the 4th class. Fuyutsuki smiled as the new teachers
asked her for advice. In the next scene, the corridor is full
with students decorating their classes for the school’s
upcoming cultural festival and the new trainee exclaimed that
everyone looks so spirited, adding that private school students
are totally different.
She then hoped that she will be able to teach at a school
like Kichiyouji Private School. Fuyutsuki asked her why, and
the new trainee replied that teaching is a life-time profession,
and that a teacher will not be fired unless they screw-up
big time. She then explained that she have heard about students
in government schools breaking the rules and being reprimanded
most of the time, compared to students of private school where
discipline cases is not very serious. That’s why if
she becomes a teacher, she preferably wants to teach at a
school like Kichiyouji Private School.
Fuyutsuki smiled when she hears her, and exclaimed that if
the trainee thinks that way, she will have to be very careful,
or else she will be bullied by the students of the school.
The trainee is puzzled, but they already arrived at the class.
The students doesn’t seem to do anything for the festival,
with the members of the Female Magic Users Club still discussing
about killing (Eikichi) Onizuka with voodoo magic and the
Gundam Trio talking about their model toys.
Fuyutsuki tells the students to sit down at their seats,
because she wants to introduce a new trainee teacher that
will replace her as a homeroom teacher during the probation
period. The trainee teacher then introduced herself, but she
stopped midway because (Taadaki) Kusano, (Kunio) Murai, (Kouji)
Fujiyoushi and (Shiro) Shibuya are gawking at her while commenting
on how much each of them will win. Suddenly, (Ai) Tokiwa appeared
from behind her and grabbed her breast as she apologized,
and as if in cue, the 4 morons started to rain Tokiwa with
questions about the trainee teacher bra size.
Tokiwa tells them to wait while she checks for the answers.
The trainee teacher is speechless as Tokiwa then answered
that the trainee teacher is wearing A-size bra. Hearing her,
Murai cried in anguish, saying that when he looks at her at
the teacher’s room, he has predicted that she should
at least wears size D, but Tokiwa called him childish, adding
that the of “magic bras” nowadays are very good.
Kusano then proceed to ask the stunned trainee whether she
really only have A-sized breast, as Shibuya sneered, saying
that because he wins, the rest of them have to sweep the class’s
floor. Fujiyoushi cursed, saying that he has always thought
that he can win.
The trainee is still shocked at what have happened, as the
4 morons are being reprimanded for betting in the class. One
of them replied, saying that they are lazy to sweep the floor,
and were scolded for doing it every year. Suddenly, (Miyabi)
Aizawa lashed at them for not doing anything, and (Anko) Uehara
tell them to stop playing, because their class is the only
one left that is not decorated for the festival. Murai then
explained, saying that they didn’t do anything because
(Urumi) Kanzaki and (Yoshito) Kikuchi who were charged in
planning the decoration are in loggerheads.
Hearing him, Kanzaki interjected, saying that Kikuchi wants
the female students who are charged with dealing with customers
to wear a certain outfit. The angry Kanzaki then shows Murai
the picture of a bar waitress wearing bunny-suit, complete
with Kanzaki’s head being superimposed literally on
the waitress head. Kikuchi ignored what she has said and explained
that his way will surely attracts more customers. He continued,
saying that the parents will still come even if they are overcharged.
Kanzaki screamed at him, asking whether they are opening a
bar.
Both of them started to quarrel, as he asked her on how then
they will recoup the cost of decorating their class. He reminded
her, that if they decorates the class her way, the cost will
be sky-high, thus unless if they overcharged the parents,
they will not reap any profits without having at least 100
people patronizing their class each day. He then asked her,
how they will continue running a business without a good turnover.
Fuyutsuki and the trainee can only looks at Kanzaki screaming
at Kikuchi, saying that the strategy of using decorations
that is different than the rest should also works wonders.
She then accused men like Kikuchi of thinking something very
“different” (read: dirty) when it comes to reaping
profits, and then exclaimed that because of people like him,
the Japan’s economy still failed to be revived.
Meanwhile, (Saeko) Iijima runs at the corridor, and she stormed
into the class and announced that they should go to see the
new gate banner for the cultural festival being installed
at the school’s gate. The students asked her whether
the banner has already finished, and she replied in the positive.
They then asked whether banner resembles someone-you-know,
and she replied that it is. Everyone then decided to go to
the gate and sees it for themselves, and Fuyutsuki tells them
not to run at the corridor.
The trainee then exclaimed that it doesn’t seem too
easy either teaching at a private school, and Fuyutsuki chuckles,
saying that no matter where she is teaching, either in government
of private schools, the profession is generally not easy.
(Aoi) Fukada, (Fuyumi) Kujirakawa and (Fukada) Kumiko can
also seen running on the corridor to see the new banner, as
Fuyutsuki continued, saying that even the job is hard and
lots of bad things has happened, in the end she will feel
that everything that have happened are justified and that’s
what the teacher’s job is all about.
Meanwhile, Uehara struggled to wear her shoes, as she asked
in vain for (Mayuko) Asano and (Naoko) Izumi to wait for her.
Suddenly she sees a hand being extended to her, and it turns
out that (Noboru) Yoshikawa asked her to go with him looking
at the banner. Uehara blushes, but she agreed and take his
hand. They then run together towards the gate to join the
rest of the students that comes to see the new banner being
installed for the festival.
It turns out that the banner is a large scale picture of
a squatting Onizuka who smokes with his legs serving as the
gate, and (Hiroshi) Uchiyamada angrily breathing on his back.
Fuyutsuki laughed after seeing the banner, while the trainee
wondered about who Onizuka really is. Fuyutsuki replied that
Onizuka is also a homeroom teacher of the 4th class, plus
he is also the one who lets her experience the funs of working
as a teacher. The trainee is shocked to hear her, and commented
that Onizuka is just like a gangster that can be seen squatting
at the roadside.
Suddenly, an angry voice can be heard asking the students
of what they are trying to do, and it turns out that Uchiyamada
with a neck brace installed is charging down towards the gate.
Looking at the banner, he becomes angry at seeing Onizuka
as the main image and even angrier when he sees his image
hovering over Onizuka like he is Onizuka’s guardian
angel. He asked the students on who does the banner, and the
students replied that they are the ones who created the banner
as the committee of the festival. Hearing them, Uchiyamada
lashed at the, saying that he will not let such a hideous
banner being installed, and tells them to remove the banner
or else the public will suspect the quality of Kichiyouji
Private School.
The students refused, and tell Uchiyamada that they already
have the permission to install the banner from the school’s
director. Uchiyamada still refused to let them install the
banner, and screamed at them asking whether they are listening
when he is ignored…
Narration: With your opinion, what do you think school
is?
A gangster, asked with the question above, replied that the
answer is “a worthless place”, because he didn’t
like reading books. He continued, saying that school is more
like a place to meet friends, and if you want to learn, you
should do it at tuition classes. Another gangster then exclaimed
that when he is at school, he always feels wanting to sleep,
thus he sleeps in the class. He concluded that school must
be a place to sleep. Back to the original gangster that was
asked the question, he continued saying that schools are boring,
because there are too many rules, and that’s why he
drops out of school. He then questioned the concept of “free
education”, saying that it was just a waste. He feels
that dropping out is better for him, and that schools should
be left alone to those who wants to study.
Shibuya is shown walking out from a police station, while
somewhere else, Ageha (of Mayu Wakui sidekick) asked whether
Shibuya who torched down the school is really not being prosecuted,
but instead was put under probation. Takumi who is playing
with his laptop, replied that she is right, adding that he
have heard that (Ryoko) Sakurai has managed to get a powerful
politician to become his guarantor, thus the case of the fire
at the school is dropped. Plus, Onizuka himself has testified
that he failed to remember who beats him up, and in the end,
Kichiyouji Private School’s prestigious name is still
intact at the end. Ageha then commented that everyone is being
nice nowadays.
Meanwhile, Takumi’s portable CD writer is stirring,
as Ageha exclaimed that Takumi is should now be allowed to
continue studying at the Kichiyouji Private School, and Takumi
replied that she is right. He then tells Wakui that Onizuka
is cool, and then announced that he has done gathering the
data that “they” are keeping. Wakui thanked him,
but Takumi asked him whether he really wants to tell everyone
about that “event”. He added that if Wakui do,
lots of people will surely pity him, and as far as Takumi
knows, Wakui is not someone who likes to be pitied upon. Wakui
then takes the CD-R from Takumi and explained that he is ready
for what will happen, and that he has already told Munakata
about his health, and that why he gets the CD. He then continued,
saying that what he is doing is to settle everything between
him and his father. (Fujisaki) Shinomi then exclaimed that
he has finished applying make-ups on Wakui, and Wakui tells
Takumi that it’s for the best of his father, because
after all, in the worst possible case his father will only
lost his position.
Takumi laughed, saying that Wakui is saying everything with
allure, and that he wants to copy how Wakui is doing it. Wakui
playfully accused Takumi of looking down at him, when suddenly
(Ichiro) Okinoshima appeared with (Tomoko) Nomura and Munakata
and asked Wakui whether he is ready. Munakata tapped Wakui’s
shoulder, and exclaimed that everything depends on him now.
Wakui smiled, saying that there shouldn’t be any problems.
Munakata then tells him to start the news conference, and
as Wakui walked towards the stage, he turns around and asked
Takumi to tell Onizuka that he (Wakui) thanked him a lot because
Onizuka has helped him.
Narration: In your opinion, who do you think a teacher
is?
A gangster asked by a question above replied that teachers
are merely a punching-bag target. A deejay who was asked that
question replied that teachers should stop acting overboard,
because after all, they only teaches what is written on the
books. Teachers at tuition classes are much better than them.
This was made worse by the fact that everyone can become a
teacher by simply passing an examination, thus there’s
no reason for them to be respected. Another one who was asked
commented that actually, a few of them are quite “good”
and a friend of him interjected, adding that a few teachers
are so good when it comes to pleasing female students, and
everyone knows the hidden meaning of what the teachers are
doing. Then the gangster is asked on his reaction if asked
to become a teacher, and he replied that he will tell anyone
who suggested that he should become a teacher to go and commit
suicide, but probably he will consider if he is asked to become
a politician instead…
At a hospital, Sakurai is wheeling an unidentified old man,
and he asked her about the progress of the things they have
been talking about in the past. Sakurai replied that everything
is going smoothly, adding that it’s possible because
of monetary contribution from the old man. The board of directors
has also taken the opportunity to kick out the undesirable
elements inside the board, thus they can now continue with
their plans. Sakurai then exclaimed that she has already gets
a very able assistant and the scene switched to Daimon which
was shown typing a draft for plans of a city of schools.
Sakurai continued, saying that she has already identified
a few suitable places for the plan, and that they will be
able to successfully execute their plans. She then thanked
the old man for his support, and the man laughed, saying that
he hasn’t done anything. The old man then asked about
any plans to absorb existing workforce, and Sakurai replied
that she does have one, plus they have a lot of choices to
choose from and has invited lots of people specializing in
their fields to join in their plans. But in the moment, only
one candidate has been identified for that exercise, and the
old man asked Sakurai whether that number is a little bit
too small. Sakurai laughed, saying that with that “candidate”
help, it will be just the same like having 100 helpers, because
after all, the “candidate” is the best teacher
ever in Japan…
Meanwhile, somewhere else in the hospital, the nurses are
shocked to see the signal light at the main dashboard blinking,
and wondered about which patient is in trouble. They then
learn that Onizuka is having trouble, and they are puzzled
because he is full with spirits just earlier in the day. All
the nurses run towards Onizuka’s room, wondering whether
Onizuka’s condition has deteriorated, and one of them
goes to call a doctor. When they arrived at the door, they
can clearly heard Onizuka screaming in pain about his neck.
The nurses stormed the room, asking on what have happened
and were stunned indeed to see Onizuka’s head severed
from his body in a bloody scene. His body is still moving,
slapping the bed as if in pain as Onizuka continued to scream
about his severed neck. The nurses started to scream too,
when they finds out that Onizuka is actually hiding below
the bed with only his head sticking out in the middle of the
bed, and that the body without the head is actually (Ryuji)
Danma, which head has been slammed through the bed. Onizuka
then locked Danma’s head with his legs to prevent Danma
from escaping.
In the end, Danma managed to escape, and in front of the
infuriated nurses, he screamed at Onizuka for slamming his
head through the bed and locked it with his legs. He accused
Onizuka of trying to kill him by suffocation, but Onizuka
tells him not to expose his head because the nurses haven’t
gone away yet or else the tricks will be exposed. The nurses
then screamed at Onizuka for destroying the bed, and threatened
him with punishment from the matron. Hearing that, Onizuka
started to run away as the nurses chased him. As Onizuka runs
at the corridor, a doctor commented that what has happened
to Onizuka is truly a miracle, for being able to heal so quickly
even that he has a brain hemorrhage. Plus he has gone to a
scene of a fire and save a person even that his heartbeat
has stopped, shocking even the firemen. The doctor then commented
that the word “miracles” are not enough to describe
what have happened to Onizuka, but the word “nightmare”
probably will be.
In the next scene, Onizuka and Danma is squatting at the
roof of the hospital, and Onizuka commented that he is bored
already at the hospital, adding that hospitals is not a very
good place to live too long in. Danma exclaimed that there’s
nothing Onizuka can do about it anyway, because Onizuka has
barely healed. Danma then commented that there are a lot of
beautiful nurses around, so Onizuka should be happy. Hearing
him, Onizuka replied that Danma is right, but his hearth right
now is simply not calm enough. He then commented, that only
that “place” is good enough for him, and Danma
smiled. Onizuka then wakes up and exclaimed that he wants
to return to the school as soon as he can.
Narration: We will become adults some time in the future.
At that time, how we will look at our school back then…?
Kanzaki and Kikuchi who are watching the commotion caused
by Uchiyamada at the gate from the building, suddenly hears
a voice asking another student about the whereabouts of the
4th class homeroom teacher. They turned around and see a pissed-off
unknown male student, and wondered whether he is a new student
of their class. The student who was asked tells the unknown
student that the homeroom teacher is at the gate, and the
unknown student complains after hearing what she has said.
Kanzaki commented that something exciting will surely happen
in the future in the 4th class, and they hoped that Onizuka
will return as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Uchiyamada is
still bitching about the banner, because her daughter will
come to the festival and their relationship will be shaken
if she sees the banner…
Narration: In your opinions, what is the meaning of the
word “school” anyway…?

a large “GTO” acronym written on the ground)
